TYVM, Dave. We are fortunate to have RVF launching service here, especially because AAY is (yet AGAIN!) going to pull out of RNO, FFT already left RNO, JSX will soon reduce the number of RNO route runs, AAL dumped its RNO-ORD service quite a while ago, AHA disappeared back when when ExpressJet folded its tent, and Spirit is getting ever closer to Death's Door. But, on a (potentially) exciting note, rumors are swirling that RNO may see another airline .... a long-established one ... take a gamble here. If so, it will only be one new service route, but it will be one EVERYBODY here wants (fingers crossed).

Greg >> Deliberately omitted (as are any other of my posted pics that do not show a reg number) because the pics are being displayed in the FA gallery. During initial posting, reg numbers are only included if the reg is visible and readable in the photo anyway.

Spent some tine with Marine Air Group 13 at Chu Lia in the late 1960s. Four Squadrons of F-4s, VMFA-115, 214, 232, 323. Lots of noise in the mornings when they were launching. Very impressive.

Reminds me of the Reno Air Races in the 70s with Mike Loaning and his beatiful P-51. Thanks for the memory.

Definitely a P-51A - A-36's have 50 cal. 'chin' guns.

With that horseshoe on the tail, it can't fly inverted. Bad luck! LOL!

#13 is the North Amarican A-36 Apache. The North American A-36 was the ground-attack/dive bomber version of the North American P-51 Mustang, from which it could be distinguished by the presence of rectangular, slatted dive brakes above and below the wings. A total of 500 A-36 dive bombers served in the Mediterranean
